HUMAN ACCESS in Marib governorate implemented a number of diverse and important activities as part of the Protection and Livelihood Support Project "Safe Space for Women and Girls", funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), to ensure that Yemeni women have the resources and protection they need to survive and rebuild their lives.

In Al-Mujmma area, the safe space concluded a comprehensive protection and awareness-raising program for girls who were subjected to early marriage.

This qualitative program, which was implemented in coordination with a girls' secondary school, included psychological support sessions, legal consultations, and training in life and craft skills, time management, and problem solving to enhance the beneficiaries' capabilities and build their self-confidence.

A vocational program was also completed to train 26 women in sewing, tailoring, and making sweets and pastries.

Moreover, a life, financial, and marketing skills program was held for 24 beneficiaries of vocational rehabilitation to prepare them for entering the workforce and earning a living, along with the implementation of a community awareness campaign on the risks associated with breast cancer in women and the prevention methods available to them. Awareness brochures and leaflets were disseminated to participants during the session.

As part of this project, the safe space performed a field visit to verify the data of applicants for vocational training based on accurate standards so as to ensure that the most vulnerable and needy women qualify for training during the next phase.

Two awareness sessions were also held, the first on the importance of developing skills and building capacities among women, and the second on the role of family education in light of the information revolution, attended by 20 women.

In Al-Jufaina area, the safe space launched a training program in the field of making sweets and pastries for 11 beneficiaries to equip them with the skills necessary of this income-generating craft in order for them to be self-reliant.
