HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate executed a number of important activities as part of the protection and livelihood support project “Safe Space for Women and Girls” funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), to raise women’s awareness in Yemen and empower them, thus making them able to continue giving.
In Al-Matar area, the safe space carried out awareness sessions for a number of female visitors to the space, including health awareness about the importance of immunization, in conjunction with a national immunization campaign against measles and rubella.
The initiative also involved legal awareness on the importance of obtaining identification papers and community awareness about safe space services to support and empower women.
In Al Mujamma and Al Jufaina areas, the safe space organized two training courses in the field of incense and perfume making.
With the first training targeting 8 trainees and the second training targeting 6 trainees, the purpose of the program was to teach them crafts skills and qualify them for the labor market in light of the challenging economic and living conditions, so they can earn a living and support their families.
Moreover, the safe space in Al Jufaina area conducted a group psychological support session targeting 16 visitors to the space on self-development and managing psychological stress.
It also educated the community about gender issues and the importance of confronting violence against women, promoting their legitimate rights, and strengthening their resilience.
