Coinciding with the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, and in partnership with the Penny Appeal organization - Australia, HUMAN ACCESS distributed Ramadan food baskets consisting of flour, rice, sugar, cooking oil ,dates and legumes to 600 poor and displaced families in the governorates of Taiz, Hadhramaut and Marib.
It also provided iftar (breakfast) meals for 1,000 people in Hadhramaut and Marib, and delivered Eid clothing to 300 children, as well as giving zakat to 292 families in Taiz, Hadhramaut and Marib, as part of the Ramadan charity projects for the current year.
Annually, Ramadan charity projects are implemented with the intention of improving the conditions of the most vulnerable groups during the month of fasting. In light of the difficult living conditions in Yemen, these projects make a difference in the lives of the targeted families and enhance their ability to cope with crises.
