Mobile protection outreach teams offering protection against gender-based violence have reached 750 displaced women and girls in throughout various displacement camps in the governorates of Aden, Lahj, and Taiz. Many interventions were rolled out to enable women and girls to have access to the basic protection services.
Recent activities encompassed a comprehensive range of services, including protection assistance, mental support, legal counseling, reproductive health awareness, and guidance on safe referral pathways. These targeted efforts address the immediate needs of women and girls, broaden their access to essential resources, and reduce their exposure to gender-based violence (GBV) risks.
The interventions respond to escalating humanitarian requirements driven by ongoing conflict and displacement, which have severely hindered women's and girls' access to vital protection mechanisms. In light of these challenges, maintaining active field operations and scaling up the humanitarian response remain imperative to reaching those most in need.
To ensure continuous coverage, mobile protection outreach teams are actively conducting field visits across targeted displacement locations. Delivering specialized and tailored support directly to beneficiaries, these teams operate in strict alignment with core humanitarian principles: safety, confidentiality, and dignity.
These interventions are implemented under the project "Provision of Livelihood Services for the Most Vulnerable Women and Girls in Yemen," implemented by HUMAN ACCESS and funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
