As a reminder of the need to redouble efforts to make sure all children have a happy childhood free of obstacles and difficulties, the world celebrates World Children's Day on November 20 each year.
Since investing in children is an investment in our common future, it is important to ensure they don't fall behind, and to spread awareness of the importance of caring for them and their rights.
On this occasion, and in an atmosphere full of joy, HUMAN ACCESS in Hadhramaut and Marib governorates organized a number of activities within the protection and livelihood support project, “Safe Space for Women and Girls,” funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to reach the most disadvantaged children in the country and put a smile on their faces under harsh conditions.
In Seiyun city of Wadi Hadhramaut, the safe space organized a recreational and cultural program targeting children in a kindergarten.
The program included playing games and distributing gifts to emphasize the absolute belief in the child’s social value and the importance of this human entity remaining the primary concern of the family and society.
In Marib, the safe space in Al-Wadi district and the areas of Al-Jufaina, Al-Matar, Al-Rawdha, and Al-Mil camps conducted various activities, including entertainment, sports, and cultural competitions for children, motivational prizes, awareness-raising for mothers, and field trips to schools to increase knowledge of the child’s right to education, in addition to artistic workshops to practice drawing and express their creativity.
