A team from the Project to Combat Female Genital Mutilations (FGM) in Seiyun city visited the office of the Ministry of Planning & International Cooperation in Wadi Hadhramaut to introduce the project and its important and diverse awareness-raising activities to address the harmful phenomenon of FGM.
During the visit, the Director General of the Ministry of Planning & International Cooperation office, Abdullah bin Nasr, praised the HUMAN ACCESS’ efforts and the support of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to confront this dangerous phenomenon that violates the fundamental human rights of girls and women and leads to catastrophic consequences.
Worth noting that HUMAN ACCESS is running a project in Hadhramaut Governorate to combat FGM with UNFPA's funding, to spread awareness of the dangers of sexual mutilation of girls as wrong practices rooted in some social norms.
