The living situation in Yemen is constantly deteriorating due to the years-long war. With the aim of alleviating the suffering of the displaced families, HUMAN ACCESS, in partnership with the Japanese ICAN Organization, and with funding from the Japanese Humanitarian Forum, concluded the distribution of emergency food aid for poor and displaced families in the districts of Al-Ta'iziyyah and Sabr Al-Mawadim in Taiz Governorate. (2180) poor and displaced families benefited from the project, within the scope of the two targeted districts, during the period from December 2020 to February 2021.

Distribution criteria and precautionary measures

Each of the food baskets distributed included flour, rice, sugar, cooking oil and legumes. The distribution process was carried out according to standards and a transparent mechanism, and under the supervision of local authority officials in the governorate. Also, during the distribution process, precautionary measures were taken to prevent infection with Coronavirus, as the work team was required to wear masks and gloves, leave safe spaces between the beneficiaries, and provide them with educational means related to ways to prevent the disease.

Joy and smile spread on the faces

The project contributed to drawing smiles and joy on the faces of members of the beneficiary families that received their share of aid baskets during the past three months. The beneficiary families expressed their thanks and appreciation to HUMAN ACCESS and the Japanese ICAN organizations, and the Japanese Humanitarian Forum, for their generous support, which is represented in providing the most important basic living requirements.
