Within the protection and livelihood support project, “Safe Space for Women and Girls”, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate implemented a number of activities designed to enhance the status of women in Yemen and as part of measures to ensure the protection of their rights and their full and effective participation in economic and social development at all levels.

In this regard, the safe space in Al-Mujamma organized three training courses, the first equipping 13 beneficiaries of vocational training in the sweets industry with skills to photograph their products and market them on social media.

The second course was in hairdressing and beauty, targeting 12 women. As for the third course, it targeted 13 women in the field of sewing to equip them with craft skills to earn a living.

In Wadi Marib, the safe space launched a training course in the field of accessories manufacturing, as a first qualitative course at the project level in the district, based on the trainees’ desire and market analysis.

In Al-Matar area, the safe space held a regular meeting of the network of peers and community committees for the fourth quarter of this year to mobilize and advocate for women’s issues and prepare for the 16-day campaign to combat gender-based violence in late November 2023.

A life, marketing and financial skills course was organized at Al Jufaina safe space to ensure that 12 beneficiaries of the livelihood program would be able to implement their own projects successfully.

It also carried out legal awareness in the presence of 18 visitors to the space about the importance of obtaining identification documents, given their great importance in public life.

As part of the safe space program, 12 applicants for training participated in a focus discussion session to analyze the market and identify their inclinations and abilities to engage in employment.
