HUMAN ACCESS in Wadi Hadhramaut organized community dialogues with social leaders, the second in Seiyun city, to raise public awareness about the harmful phenomenon of female genital mutilations (FGM) within the "Youth Friendly Space" project funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The second community dialogues focused on the long-term physical, psychological and social damage and complications of FGM and the need to support community leaders in protecting girls’ health from these wrong practices that are rooted in some social norms, which constitute gender-based violence and a violation of women and girls’ basic human rights.
