Last Sunday, HUMAN ACCESS in Wadi Hadramawt offered economic empowerment grants in the field of sweets and pastry-making, and sewing and tailoring to 30 families of women and girls who benefited from the protection and livelihood support project (safe spaces for women and girls) for the first and second quarters of 2021, funded by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The grants consisted of distributing 15 sewing machines, sewing tools and a quantity of various fabrics, in addition to distributing sweets and pastry-making supplies to 15 beneficiary families.
The celebration, attended by the director general of the Ministry of Vocational Training office, included a number of diverse sections and wonderful folkloric dances. At the handover ceremony, the director general of Seiyun district praised the humanitarian efforts undertaken by HUMAN ACCESS in supporting women and girls in the areas of economic empowerment, rehabilitation and training programs, capacity development and the provision of safe spaces for women and girls.
The grants contributed to empowering these families economically by creating job opportunities that would generate new income for them.
