With funding from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Community Center for IDPs, operated by HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate, constructed two additional classrooms and furnished them with a number of chairs in Al-Rawda School.
As a result of displacement, this school is overcrowded with male and female students. It is urgently in need of expansion to provide a stimulating and better learning environment, and to ensure that children from the most vulnerable backgrounds have the opportunity to learn.
The opening of the two classrooms took place in the presence of the Deputy Director General of the Education Office in the governorate, Abdulaziz Al-Baker, the Director of Projects in the Office, Engineer Abdullah Shaddad, and Dr. Lawand Talal, the Protection Officer at the UNHCR office in Marib.
It was during the opening remarks that Al-Baker praised the efforts of HUMAN ACCESS and the UNHCR for implementing these sustainable and significant educational projects to support Yemen's education recovery.
