HUMAN ACCESS implemented a number of diverse activities in the governorates of Aden, Shabwah, and Taiz. These activities were part of the project "Providing Livelihood Services for the Most Vulnerable Women and Girls in Yemen," funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The project’s key objective is to enhance women's empowerment and address the growing threats to their progress.

In Aden, a package of protection and psychosocial support services was provided to a number of women and girls from the displaced, refugee, and host community in Dar Saad District. The services included providing emergency cash assistance to eight women beneficiaries and training nine women in sewing, equipping them with skills in this income-generating craft, in addition to basic life skills to enhance self-reliance.

The services offered also included nine awareness sessions, attended by 239 women, aimed at raising awareness of protection issues and women's rights. The services also involved 80 psychological and social consultations and targeted recreational and educational activities for 36 boy and girl children, providing a safe environment for play and learning. The project also received 197 female visitors, among other services.

In Shabwa, numerous awareness-raising and educational activities were conducted in the city of Ataq as part of the Shabwa Book Fair, specifically on the day dedicated to women and children. Awareness sessions were organized, targeted brochures were distributed, and cultural competitions were held, as well as children's competitions along with symbolic gifts to spread joy and fun, and to enhance knowledge and psychological and social support.

In Taiz, six livelihood grants were awarded in Al-Qahirah District to female beneficiaries of vocational training in sewing and hairdressing. The grants include the basic supplies needed to begin practicing the profession, helping the women beneficiaries integrate into the labor market, achieve financial self-sufficiency for themselves and their families, and transform into productive families capable of confronting the challenges and deteriorating living conditions in the country.
