In partnership with Mercy organization in Malaysia, HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate trained 17 male and female health personnel on treating malnutrition in cooperation with the Public Health and Population office in the governorate and the Marib General Hospital Authority.
A 12-day program was designed to equip targeted health workers with new skills and to improve their ability to provide quality medical care to severely malnourished children.
As a result of the ongoing conflict, deteriorating health services, economic crisis, and other factors, malnutrition is a major concern in many parts of Yemen.
Investing in addressing malnutrition saves lives and prevents more vulnerable children from being at risk, in a country considered one of the centers of global hunger, according to UN and international assessments.
