A high-level delegation from World Food Program (WFP) visited the implementation sites of the therapeutic and preventive nutrition project in Marib Governorate, headed by Corinne Fleischer, Regional Director of the World Food Program in the Middle East and North Africa.
The delegation also included Richard Ragan, WFP Director in Yemen, Masoud Khan, Program Director in Marib, and Manal Al-Areeqi and Rami Al-Mikhlafi, nutrition and program officials at the WFP office in the governorate.
In the visit, in which they were accompanied by the Director General of the Public Health & Population office in Marib, Dr. Ahmed Al-Abadi, the visiting UN delegation was briefed on the services of the project implemented by HUMAN ACCESS, and funded by WFP.
The Program works to save the lives of vulnerable groups and to sustain therapeutic nutrition services in light of the lack of access to basic health care and food due to the conflict and the high rates of malnutrition among women and children in the country.
