Within the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)-funded project “Safe Space for Women and Girls,” HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate organized vocational courses to create economic opportunities for Yemeni women and get them into entrepreneurship so they can improve their living conditions in a sustainable manner and start small businesses that can be turned into productive families.
With the participation of 24 trainees, the safe space in Al-Matar area conducted two vocational courses in the fields of hairdressing and sewing, aiming to give them the skills necessary to be able to enter the labor market and support their families.
In Al-Wadi district, the safe space offered group psychological support to female beneficiaries of the handicraft course to boost their confidence in launching their own businesses.
The safe space in Al-Mujamma area completed field verification procedures for the data of applicants for economic empowerment grants for the second quarter of this year, in preparation for selecting those who are qualified to benefit from these grants.
Furthermore, and with Yemen's harsh conditions, the safe space continues to offer sewing and sweets/pastries training for 30 beneficiaries in order to help them earn a living.
