A delegation from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) visited health facilities in Taiz Governorate covered by the Reproductive Health Services Support Project, a project being implemented by HUMAN ACCESS with UNFPA’s funding as an important part of Yemen’s humanitarian response efforts.

UNFPA's Aden Office Director, Jean Paul, along with the Reproductive Health Coordinator at the UNFPA Office in Aden, Dr. Arwa Shaker, headed the delegation. The visit involved the hospitals of Mudhaffar, the Yemeni-Swedish, and Al-Misrakh in the districts of Al-Mudhaffar, Al-Qahirah, and Al-Misrakh.

In the presence of Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Sabri, Director General of Taiz's Public Health and Population Office, the delegation received an update on the progress of the project aimed at supporting reproductive health services in these health facilities.

The effort to improve these essential services and help save the lives of mothers and newborns during childbirth has been praised, as well as the efforts made to improve the quality of these services.

It is noteworthy that the visit coincided with the launch of a campaign to promote maternal and newborn health, which targets several districts in Aden and Taiz governorates over a period of 5 days.

The Taiz campaign was launched at Al-Mudhaffar Hospital, which is part of the reproductive health services support project implemented by HUMAN ACCESS in partnership with UNFPA.
