HUMAN ACCESS in Al-Mahra Governorate carried out a training program in the field of infection prevention methods for 22 midwives in the reproductive health department at Sayhut General Hospital in Sayhut District, within the context of the Reproductive Health Services Support Project, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The trainees learned important skills and had the opportunity to gain experience in infection prevention methods over a two-day period, in order to effectively deal with any cases that would arise, as healthcare-related infections have a profound impact on people's lives.
Furthermore, infection prevention and control work are urgently needed to protect the population, improve health outcomes, and reduce healthcare costs.
During the inauguration of the training program in the presence of the Director of the Information Department of the Population Sector in the Ministry of Public Health, Munzir Nushad, the Acting Secretary-General of the Local Council in Sayhut District, Abdullah Awad, and the Director of the Health Office in the District, Saeed Mubarak, praised HUMAN ACCESS’ efforts and the UNFPA’s support to invest in programs related to infection prevention and control to ensure the safety of patients and health workers.
