HUMAN ACCESS in Al-Mahra Governorate implemented two training programs for 45 emergency and obstetric doctors and midwives at Al-Ghaydah Central Hospital on how to deal with critical cases.
This training is part of the Reproductive Health Services Support Project funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Yemen in support of humanitarian response efforts.
The event was sponsored by Muhammad Ali Yasser, Governor of Al-Mahra Governorate, and in the presence of a number of local officials to equip male and female trainees with skills and experiences necessary in the field of obstetric emergencies, improve the level of reproductive health services, contribute to reducing the risks of deaths among mothers and newborns, improving family health, and building prosperous communities.
Secretary-General of the Local Council in Al-Mahra, Salem Nemer, praised the HUMAN ACCESS efforts and UNFPA’s support to improve emergency obstetric services and help save lives.
As part of his remarks, the Director General of the Public Health Office in the governorate, Dr. Awad Mubarak, emphasized the importance of these training programs to enhance basic healthcare and assist in raising the performance of the medical staff.
