In Al-Mahrah governorate, HUMAN ACCESS association initiated a training program on obstetric fistulas, targeting midwives at Al-Ghaydah Central Hospital, as part of the Reproductive Health Services Support Project, which is funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) to improve reproductive health services in Yemen.
In his speech at the training launch, Dr. Mubarak bin Mazyoun, deputy director of the Public Health and Population Office in Al-Mahrah, praised the association and UNFPA's efforts and support to upgrade reproductive health workers' capabilities and to mitigate obstetric fistula complications, which are among the most dangerous and tragic injuries to occur during childbirth.
