HUMAN ACCESS in Al-Mahra Governorate, in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), opened two sewing and pastry-making factories.
At the opening ceremony, Ms. Khadija Bakrit, Assistant Undersecretary for Women's Affairs in the governorate, praised the humanitarian efforts of HUMAN ACCESS through the protection and livelihood support project for women and girls in supporting women and girls in the areas of economic empowerment, training and rehabilitation programs, and capacity development.
For his part, Abdullah Nuwaija, Head of HUMAN ACCESS in Al-Mahra Governorate, explained that the beneficiaries were trained, rehabilitated and empowered with sewing skills and the arts of making sweets and pastries. Nuwaija indicated that HUMAN ACCESS will launch some other factories during the coming period to include the largest number of beneficiaries in the fields of hairdressing and incense manufacturing, so as to empower them economically and facilitate their access to their income-generating enterprises.
