An awareness session about female genital mutilation (FGM) was conducted by HUMAN ACCESS in Al-Mahrah Governorate in the context of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) FGM project. This practice is a form of severe violence against girls that is detrimental to the health and well-being of women.
20 women in Al-Ghaydah city were made aware of the harmful effects of female circumcision in all forms, which is a violation of human rights for girls, as well as the need to criminalize these wrong practices in order to protect our daughters from long-term physical, psychological, and social damage and complications that FGM causes.
