HUMAN ACCESS carried out a number of activities in the governorates of Shabwa, Al-Mahra, and Marib within the “Safe Space for Women and Girls” protection and livelihood support project, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), to support Yemeni women and put them on the path to success and giving.

The safe space organized an awareness session in Ataq city in Shabwa entitled “Women’s Rights under Yemeni Sharia and Law” to make society more aware of women’s and girls’ rights, draw attention to the challenges women face, and make them aware of the rights guaranteed to them as human beings.

In Al-Ghaydah city in Al-Mahra, the safe space hosted two training programs for 25 women in the fields of sewing and pastry making, to help them develop their abilities and talents, engage in the labor market, and create small projects to cope with the harsh economic and living conditions.

In Marib, the safe space in Al-Jufaina area completed a training program in hairdressing for 12 beneficiaries.

The space also visited one of the health facilities in the region and distributed gifts to sick women on the occasion of International Women's Day as a form of psychological and moral support, which they desperately need to enhance their health.

In Wadi Marib, the safe space concluded a community awareness program on the occasion of International Women's Day.

Additionally, there were many purposeful activities in the program, including honoring an elderly woman in society called "Mother Alia," who has dedicated her life to the advancement of obstetric medicine.
