HUMAN ACCESS and the Public Health and Population Office in Marib Governorate signed an agreement to implement a project to provide life-saving basic health and nutrition services to malnourished children under the age of five. This project will be implemented through the Primary Healthcare Department at Kara General Hospital, with funding from the Umoda Kushneler Foundation.

Approximately 8,000 children under the age of five are expected to benefit from this vital project over a period of six months. By providing a package of lifesaving health and nutrition services, the project aims to care for malnourished children and reduce deaths caused by malnutrition.

Malnutrition is a major threat to child survival and development, and combating malnutrition represents one of the greatest challenges facing public health in Yemen, amid a severe humanitarian crisis that is pushing increasing numbers of children into the clutches of malnutrition, while access to health and nutrition services has become increasingly difficult.
