With funding from Global Ehsan Relief Malaysia, HUMAN ACCESS opened the first phase of the Children's Malnutrition Treatment Center at Kara General Hospital in Al-Wadi district, Marib Governorate, as a part of its efforts to reach the largest number of children suffering from malnutrition and protect them from disease.

The opening ceremony took place in the presence of the Undersecretary of Marib Governorate, Abdullah Al-Bakri, the Head of HUMAN ACCESS, Yahya Al-Daba, the Executive Director of the Malaysian Global Ehsan Relief organization, Dr. Shah Razavi, and the Director General of Kara General Hospital, Dr. Luay Suleiman, among other local officials and social figures.

The first phase consisted of constructing a 4-storey building with a basement, which included modern furnishings and equipment.

The second phase is currently being implemented, which is scheduled to finish during the first quarter of next year 2023, and will be the first center specializing in treating child malnutrition in Marib with several departments and specialized clinics with a capacity of 40 beds.

As part of the inauguration, Undersecretary Al-Bakri praised this project for its high quality and developmental features, which will help thousands of children receive specialized services and contribute to combating malnutrition diseases that are spreading in Yemen as a result of the war and poor living conditions.

Al-Bakri also extended his thanks and gratitude to HUMAN ACCESS and the Malaysian Global Ehsan Relief organization.
