HUMAN ACCESS launches training program for Water and Sanitation Corporation staff in Taiz, funded by KSrelief Center
The HUMAN ACCESS Association launched a specialized training program to build the capacity of staff at the local water and sanitation corporation in Taiz Governorate. This initiative is part of a project to promote safe and clean water sources sustainably for the residents of Taiz, funded by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).
The two-week program aims to train 30 participants, including technical staff, operators, and field workers from the corporation. The goal is to equip them with modern knowledge and practical skills in operating and maintaining solar-powered water pumping systems, thereby improving performance efficiency and ensuring the sustainability of water services provided to residents.
This training program is one of the project's components aimed at enhancing the technical readiness of the local water and sanitation corporation and empowering its staff to efficiently manage, operate, and maintain modern systems. This is particularly important given the increasing use of solar energy as a sustainable solution for operating water sources and reducing reliance on petroleum products.
The project involves drilling three new artesian wells and equipping them with submersible pumping units and accessories, in addition to integrated solar power systems that ensure operational sustainability and reduce energy costs.
The project also includes supplying, installing, and operating solar power systems for an existing well and water pumping station, which will enhance water production capacity and contribute to alleviating the suffering of the residents of Taiz, who face increasing challenges in accessing potable water.
This project comes within the framework of the humanitarian and relief efforts implemented by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the KSrelief Center, in the water and environmental sanitation sector. It supports the basic needs of the affected population in Yemen and promotes sustainable solutions that contribute to improving the quality of life and mitigating the effects of the humanitarian crisis.
