With funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and with the aim of improving understanding of the importance of women’s role in the development and advancement of society, community awareness sessions were conducted on women's rights within the plan of the Protection and Livelihood Support Project for Women and Girls in Al Ghaydah District, Al Mahrah Governorate.
The sessions focused on the most prominent problems and obstacles faced by women in Yemeni society, increasing awareness of the importance of taking care of psychological aspects, resisting crises and psychological trauma, and preventing gender-based violence. The sessions also enhanced knowledge of the rights guaranteed to women in Islamic Sharia and laws.
