Breast cancer is a form of cancer that affects the breast and appears in the milk ducts and glands. Breast cancer is at the forefront of the types of cancer affecting women in the world, as preventive programs and awareness activities contribute to reducing it.

On the occasion of the International Breast Cancer Awareness Month "Pink October", HUMAN ACCESS carried out community awareness activities in Hadhramaut and Marib governorates in the presence of a number of women and girls, with the aim of raising awareness about the dangers of breast cancer among women and ways to prevent it. In this regard, an awareness lecture was organized in Wadi Hadhramaut entitled "The Importance of Psychosocial Support for Breast Cancer Patients" within the program of the Psychosocial Support Center at Al Shihr General Hospital, funded by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

The lecture came in partnership with the Tomooh Al-Nahedh Association for the Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities and the Hadhramaut Foundation for Cancer Control. The lecture reviewed the struggle story of a survivor of the disease, and a number of survivors were honored with souvenirs. In this context, the HUMAN ACCESS Community Center for IDPs in Marib implemented a community awareness session on breast cancer, targeting 14 women, with funding from the UNHCR.

HUMAN ACCESS in Marib also carried out awareness-raising activities in Al-Wadi district about breast cancer within the protection and livelihood support project "Safe Space for Women and Girls", funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). It is noteworthy that the month of October of each year is devoted to reminding women of breast cancer, with the aim of educating women and encouraging preventive health programs for early detection of the disease in its early stages.
