The students of Quban Secondary School in Ataq District, Shabwa Governorate, were targeted as part of the protection and livelihood support project funded by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The sessions dealt with raising awareness about gender-based violence: its causes, patterns and effects on women and girls, on the family and society together, and ways to prevent and reduce violence.
The sessions also raised awareness of the dangers of early marriage and its psychological and health damages, and the consequences of depriving girls of education, in addition to introducing the project's activities and services provided to women and girls.
