HUMAN ACCESS in Al Mahrah Governorate delivered a new batch of medicines and medical supplies to the obstetric emergency department at Al Ghaydah Central Hospital. This delivery is part of the Reproductive Health Services Support Project, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), an important part of the humanitarian response efforts in Yemen.

The handover ceremony was attended by the First Deputy Governor of Al Mahrah, Dr. Mukhtar Al Jaafari, the Director General of the Health Office in the Governorate, Dr. Awad Mubarak Saad, and the Director General of Al Ghaydah Central Hospital, Mohsen Ahmed Balhaf.

During the handover, Undersecretary Al-Jaafri emphasized the importance of this qualitative support, which contributes to enhancing the quality of reproductive health services and maternal and child healthcare at Al-Ghaydah Hospital, mitigates the suffering of patients, and enhances the capabilities of medical staff to provide care at the highest standards.

Undersecretary Al-Jaafri commended the UNFPA role in supporting medical supplies and health projects, as well as HUMAN ACCESS' efforts in ongoing coordination and cooperation with official authorities in Al-Mahrah, and its contribution to maintaining essential health services for the most vulnerable groups.

For his part, the Director of Al-Ghaydah Hospital explained that this significant support, which the hospital receives on a quarterly basis, covers a significant portion of the needs of the obstetric emergency department. He expressed his gratitude to the entities supporting and implementing the project, which aims to enhance access to basic reproductive health services and increase survival rates.
