HUMAN ACCESS in Al-Mahrah Governorate provided economic empowerment toolkits to 24 women who received vocational training in sewing and pastry making in Al-Ghaydah city during the first half of this year. Under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (MOSAL) office in the governorate, they received comprehensive supplies to practice their profession and enter the labor market.

It is part of the protection and livelihood support project "Safe Space for Women and Girls", which is funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).

The goal of this project is to provide vulnerable Yemeni families with a continuous source of income as an effective solution to daily difficulties to enhance their resilience amidst the increasing humanitarian needs and challenges.

The handover process was attended by the First Deputy Governor of Al-Mahrah, Dr. Mukhtar bin Awad Al-Jaafari, and Ali Al Mutairi, and Salem Al-Saqqaf, as representatives of the KSrelief Center, Alia Al-Harizi, Advisor to the Governor of Al-Mahrah for the Women's Sector, Deputy Director General of the MOSAL office, Salem Suwailem, and Director of the General Administration for Women's Development in the Governorate, Lubna Kalshat.

At the handover, Deputy Al-Jaafari praised these efforts to empower the economically vulnerable groups, emphasizing the importance of these toolkits in paving the way for the beneficiary families to earn a living, be self-reliant, and contribute to the local economy.

For his part, Suwailem extended his sincere thanks to HUMAN ACCESS, UNFPA, and KSrelief for these small income-generating projects to improve the lives of the most vulnerable and needy families.
