HUMAN ACCESS in Seiyun organized a training workshop on combating female genital mutilations, financed by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). Thirty trainees from local authority members and representatives of government ministries and civil society organizations in the district participated in the training.
A number of concepts about female genital mutilation (FGM) known as female circumcision and types of gender-based violence practices were discussed in the workshop. The workshop also addressed the need to coordinate efforts between civil society organizations and local authority to implement awareness programs and activities to end FGM.
