HUMAN ACCESS was on a date with a monitoring visit carried out via Mrs. Samah Mahmoud, representative of Yemeni Humanitarian Fund (YHF) from the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Aden, to the two health facilities in Al-Madaribah Wa Al-Arah district, Lahj Governorate: Ras Al-Ara Rural Hospital and Al-Suqya Health Unit. She was briefed on the progress of the "Enhancing Access to Sustainable and Efficient Health Services" project, implemented by HUMAN ACCESS and funded by YHF.

Mrs. Samah could not hide her delightfully expressions at the great success she observed in the project's progress, noting that its goal is to improve the health situation and life-saving interventions by providing the Minimum Services Package (MSP) of health to the most vulnerable population in the targeted areas.

It is worth noting that the activities are implementing in complementarity with the “Reproductive Health Project” supported by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the “Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) Project” supported by the World Food Program (WFP), where the project activities aim to provide integrated health services to the most vulnerable populations in the region, including IDPs and refugees.

The implementation of "Enhancing Access to Sustainable and Efficient Health Services" project started in January 2021 and will continue until the end of the year targeting 4 fixed health facilities (HFs); two in Al-Madaribah Wa Al-Arah district within Lahj governorate, two in Al-Qahirah district within Taiz governorate, and a mobile medical team delivering primary health care services to areas where fixed HFs do not fully functional in Salh district within Taiz governorate. Nevertheless, the beneficiaries demand the donors to continue their support and achieve sustainability of services in the standing of the continuing crisis and the deterioration of the situation in Yemen.
