To mark World Mental Health Day (observed annually on October 10), HUMAN ACCESS organized a diverse series of awareness and recreational activities as part of the project "Providing Livelihood Services for Vulnerable Women and Girls in Yemen," funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

Implemented across Hadramout, Al-Mahrah, and Marib governorates, the initiative featured mental support sessions participated by some women and girls. These sessions aimed to promote mental health as a core priority, safeguard emotional well‑being, and provide safe, supportive spaces for positive social engagement and self‑expression.

In Hadramout (Al‑Mukalla City), 14 girls participated in targeted creative activities, including an art and painting workshop, recreational competitions, and the distribution of gifts to participants.

In Al‑Mahrah (Al‑Ghaydah City), a range of engaging educational activities and competitions were held to emphasize mental health as a fundamental human right, highlighting the importance of investing in mental well‑being to build stronger, more resilient communities.

In Marib Governorate, Al‑Rawdah & Al‑Mil IDP Camps, 10 women and girls took part in interactive awareness sessions.

In Al‑Jufinah area, a community awareness session addressed the importance of mental rest and self‑care under the intense pressures of humanitarian crises, accompanied by recreational games and gift distributions for participants.

These activities reflect HUMAN ACCESS’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the mental resilience of women and girls, equipping them with practical coping mechanisms to navigate daily hardships and improve their overall quality of life.
