Yemenis are struggling for their lives. The health situation in Yemen is deteriorating continuously, with nearly 2.2 million Yemeni children suffering from acute malnutrition, due to food shortages and faulty feeding practices at home.

With the aim of contributing to the treatment of acute malnutrition cases in children under five years of age, and the treatment of severely malnourished pregnant and lactating mothers, HUMAN ACCESS, in partnership with Kaf Humanity - Kingdom of Bahrain, implemented a relief project for malnourished people (mobile medical clinic) in Mashra’a and Hadnan district, Taiz governorate, by raising the capabilities and performance of mobile clinics and supplying them with the necessary health staff and medicines.

Children and pregnant and lactating women benefit from the project
(2,822) children of boys and girls, pregnant and lactating women, benefited from the therapeutic and nutritional services provided to them through mobile clinics, during the period from October to December of last year.

Direct interventions and support
A set of activities were implemented, including providing therapeutic feeding services for children under five years of age with severe acute malnutrition, and providing curative and preventive services to pregnant and lactating mothers with severe acute malnutrition, through mobile clinics, through periodic examination of children and pregnant and lactating women. It was to detect cases of malnutrition, and provide therapeutic feeding services, in addition to providing education and awareness sessions on infant and young child feeding and providing medical consultations for women.

HUMAN ACCESS, in partnership with Kaf humanitarian - Kingdom of Bahrain, has been able to provide treatments for malnutrition in children less than five years and improve the nutritional situation between pregnant and lactating mothers.
