Taiz: Malnutrition treatment project management meets with targeted districts supervisors
The management of the malnutrition treatment project in Taiz Governorate held a periodic meeting for the supervisors of the targeted districts in the governorate, which are "Al-Wazeyyah, Jabal Habashi, Mashra'a & Hadnan, Al-Mawasit, Al-Misrakh, and Al-Qahirah".
In light of Yemen's high rates of malnutrition among women and children because of the conflict, the purpose of the meeting is to review progress of the project and discuss how to improve performance in providing health nutrition services to the most vulnerable groups.
It is worth to mention that HUMAN ACCESS is currently working on a project to treat malnutrition in the governorates of Taiz, Marib, and Lahj, funded by World Food Program (WFP).
This qualitative project in Taiz provides services to 75 health facilities to treat moderate malnutrition, as well as nine mobile vans in six targeted districts and support for preventive feeding services delivered by community health volunteers at 120 distribution points in the targeted districts in order to reduce the threat of malnutrition diseases to vulnerable communities.
