The General Faraj Al-Bahsani, Governor of Hadhramaut Governorate, along with Dr. Abdullah Dahan, Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Ahlam Bin Brik, Coordinator of the United Nations Population Fund in Hadramout Region, and Dr. Muhammad Al-Jamahi, Director of Health and Population Office in Hadramout Al-Sahel, were briefed on the services provided by the Childbearing Health Services Support Project of HUMAN ACCESS, funded by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), at Shehair Health Center in Ghail Bawazir District.

Mr. General Al-Bahsani praised the efforts of HUMAN ACCESS in supporting the center and strengthening health efforts in the governorate, and stressed the need for the continued work of international organizations and their local partners in supporting health services in light of difficult conditions the country is going through.

In this regard, Dr. Abdullah Dahan, Deputy Minister of Public Health and Population, praised the role of the United Nations Population Fund and its local partners in supporting childbearing health services.

Dr. Ahlam Bin Brik, coordinator of the United Nations Population Fund in Hadhramaut Region, explained that the United Nations Population Fund pays most of its attention to supporting childbearing health services through fixed health facilities with the aim of contributing to improving health situation in the country, through participatory programs with its local partners from Civil Society Organizations, led by association of HUMAN ACCESS for Partnership and Development.

It is worth to mention that the Childbearing Health Services Support Project has contributed significantly to reducing the rate of obstetric and birth complications through free services provided by the center since the beginning of 2021till now. The total number of the beneficiaries of women in the Childbearing Health Services at the Shehair Health Center reached more than (9.371) during 2021.

The visiting delegation was met and received by Dr. Hosni bin Fadl, Director of Health Office in Ghail Bawazir, Engineer Muhammad Al-Hadri, Executive Director of HUMAN ACCESS in Hadramout Al-Sahel, and Dr. Fadi Wabran, Director of Shehair Health Center.
