Focus group discussions to assess services of protection and livelihood support project
HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate organized three focus group discussions as part of the activities of the protection and livelihood support project “Safe Space for Women and Girls”, which is funded by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The project aims to help women achieve a higher standard of living and a greater capacity for resilience and societal stability so they can cope with various shocks and limit their consequences.
The first discussion was in Al-Matar area in Marib city, and the second in Al-Wadi district, where they targeted beneficiaries of economic empowerment programs during the year 2023 in the areas of sewing, tailoring, making sweets, pastries, hairdressers, and maintenance of mobile phones.
A goal of the discussion was to assess and determine the reasons for the failure of some beneficiaries of the economic empowerment programs, and to develop recommendations on how to improve future performance and achieve greater success in the future.
Meanwhile, twenty women were selected for the third focus group discussion in Al-Jufaina camp to assess the impact of the project on women and girls’ beneficiaries during the past year.
This discussion was to enhance strengths and diagnose deficiencies, prevent weaknesses, and improve protection services and economic empowerment, leading to the empowerment of Yemeni women and placing them in a position of giving and excellence.
