Where is Socotra Archipelago located?
The Socotra Archipelago is located on the southern side of the Republic of Yemen, opposite the city of Mukalla, east of the Gulf of Aden. It is about 380 km from Ras Fark in Al-Mahrah
Governorate, as it is considered the closest point on the Yemeni coast. It is also about 553 miles of the coast of Aden Governorate.
The archipelago consists of four large islands: Socotra, Abd al Kuri, Samhah, and Darsah, as well as 3 small islets to the north of the archipelago.
Socotra governorate was administratively part of Hadramaut governorate until December 2013 when a presidential decree issued to establish the governorate of Socotra Archipelago.

Hot and rainy in summer and relatively moderate in winter. The average temperature in the governorate in general during the days of the year reaches approximately 27 degrees Celsius.
