A team from the project to combat female genital mutilations (FGM) "Youth Friendly Space" in Mukalla city, visited the office of the Ministry of Human Rights in the Coast of Hadhramaut to introduce the project and its significant awareness activities to address the FGM phenomenon, including a community awareness campaign that will be conducted on Friday in the Children's Garden.

During the visit, Ms. Sabreen Al-Kirbi, coordinator of the Ministry of Human Rights in Hadhramaut Coast, praised the efforts made by the Youth Friendly Space, stressing the importance of the project to confront these harmful practices that violate the basic human rights of girls and women, and also represent a form of violence against women.

It should be noted that HUMAN ACCESS in Hadhramaut Governorate is running a project to combat female genital mutilations, with funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), to increase public knowledge of the dangers of sexual mutilation of girls as a wrong phenomenon that is rooted in some social norms and causes long-term physical, psychological and social damage and complications.
