Specialized workshops and outreach sessions.. Continuous efforts to ensure the advancement of women
In Marib Governorate, HUMAN ACCESS conducted various activities as part of its project to protect and sustain the livelihoods of women and girls, “Safe Space for Women and Girls”, which is funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), to ensure that women in Yemen are able to access their rights, particularly those who have been affected by humanitarian crises, as a fundamental priority and a prerequisite for a brighter future.
In this regard, specialized workshops were launched to develop the capabilities and skills of the case management team and their assistants in five safe spaces in the districts of Marib city and Al-Wadi, with the participation of 15 male and female participants.
Additionally, a workshop was held for safe space coordinators in the governorate to enhance performance and provide the best services to make the protection and livelihood support project a success.
Community awareness sessions were conducted in Al-Mujamma area to educate visitors about the definition of the safe space, its services, and important social issues such as early marriage.
The project also carried out two community awareness sessions, the first targeting high school students at the Martyr Mohammad Hayel School about the importance of educating girls, and the second targeting eighth grade students at the same school about mental wandering and how to treat it.
In Al-Jufaina camp, the safe space carried out an awareness session targeting 12 visitors to the space on "The strength of a woman's personality in her self-reliance."
In Al-Matar area, the safe space organized awareness sessions for a number of women who visited the space, addressing the definition of the space and its services, the importance of identification cards, as well as issues related to mental health that concern women and girls and require support and protection.
Meanwhile, the safe space in Al-Rawdha and Al-Mil camps carried out a community awareness session titled "Women's Contribution to Changing Style and Lifestyle", given that women are the nucleus of society, and that if women's behavior is developed, it will positively affect the behavior of the family and society.
Furthermore, and as part of its yearly evaluation, the safe space organized a two-day focus panel discussion to measure the impact of economic empowerment projects on the program's women beneficiaries.
