After losing the breadwinner, there are many Yemeni orphans who live in extreme poverty. They require humanitarian assistance in order to alleviate the impact of their tragedy and to bring joy and happiness to their families.
As a result of nine years of conflict, the category of vulnerable orphans is facing additional threats due to the challenging living and economic conditions.
During the last period, the Orphan Sponsorship and Care Sector in HUMAN ACCESS conducted important humanitarian interventions, benefiting 5,180 male and female orphans in the governorates of Hadhramaut, Taiz, Marib and Lahj.
Through these interventions, displaced orphan families were able to meet acute needs amidst the growing humanitarian crisis, thanks to the generosity of a number of donors.
In this context, the Orphan Sponsorship and Care Sector delivered a four-month food basket, Eid clothing and hygiene kits for 137 orphans, funded by the International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO), as part of the comprehensive sponsorship project for orphans.
The sector also provided Eid al-Adha clothes for 2071 male and female orphans, with the support of IICO, the Orphan Endowment, and Wifa organization.
Moreover, Muslim Aid helped provide four-month food baskets, Eid al-Adha clothing and hygiene kits to 500 orphans.
Further, with the support of the Orphan Endowment, 103 sacrifices were distributed, benefiting 412 orphan families during the blessed Eid Al-Adha days, as a seasonal humanitarian response that has a great impact on the souls of the poor people.
As a result of this vital aid, the beneficiary orphans expressed their gratitude to HUMAN ACCESS and the donors, who relieved them of many burdens.
And due to the orphan sponsorship sector’s efforts, the aid has also helped secure their basic needs in a country where millions of people struggle to survive.
