HUMAN ACCESS carried out urgent humanitarian interventions, targeting 7,550 people in Al-Mahra Governorate.
Among the interventions was the delivery of food baskets, meals, drinking water, mattresses, and blankets in response to the damage and losses caused by Cyclone Tej in order to alleviate suffering among those affected during a time of dire need.
Al-Mahra is one of the eastern governorates of Yemen that was struck by the tropical cyclone over the past few days, causing major losses to infrastructure and public and private property, disrupting livelihoods, and destroying homes, along with the displacement of many residents to temporary shelter centers in a number of areas.
There is an urgent need for humanitarian aid to support those affected to recover from this disaster that has befallen them.
HUMAN ACCESS, therefore, calls on all donors to provide the necessary funding for the basic needs of those most affected vulnerable people, expand the scope of the vital humanitarian response, contain the aftermath effects of the tropical cyclone, and consolidate efforts, given the extreme hardships Yemen is facing as a result of the ongoing conflict.
