A team from the Orphan Sponsorship and Care Sector of HUMAN ACCESS conducted field visits to monitor and assess economic empowerment projects across several Yemeni governorates. The purpose of these field visits is to review the progress of implemented projects, learn from successful experiences, identify obstacles and difficulties, and provide the necessary consultations to create economically viable projects that offer better opportunities of securing a decent living and a sustainable future.
During the years (2016-2023), the Orphan Sponsorship and Care Sector implemented economic empowerment projects for the benefit of 1,063 orphan families in 15 governorates, with funding from a group of partners and donors, as part of ongoing efforts to care for Yemen's most vulnerable orphans.
Economic empowerment programs are crucial because they provide orphans with a steady source of income, ease their suffering, and help them cope with the burdens resulting from the loss of a breadwinner.
