HUMAN ACCESS in Hadhramaut Governorate implemented community awareness within the framework of the female genital mutilation (FGM) project funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The goal of the project is to spread awareness in the community about the negative physical and psychological effects of FGM, the dangers of violence against women and the importance of standing together to reject any violation of any woman's right.
In the city of Seiyun, an awareness session was conducted in the presence of 22 women about gender-based violence and the need to address it as a crime and violation of human rights.
In Mukalla, an awareness session was organized on the health, psychological, and social risks girls face as a result of female genital mutilation, and the need to take action against these wrong practices that cause severe harms to girls.
