Basic Job Information

Job Purpose

The Social Worker is responsible for raising community awareness, promoting the services provided through the Safe Space, and assessing the vulnerability of beneficiaries eligible for cash assistance. The position also supports the identification, referral, and follow-up of vulnerable individuals while contributing to community outreach and protection activities in accordance with humanitarian principles.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Organize community awareness sessions in informal settlements and displacement camps to reach individuals who do not regularly access the center.
  2. Implement monthly and quarterly work plan activities.
  3. Develop and design awareness materials, including posters, brochures, audio messages, and short educational videos tailored to the needs of women, girls, and the local community.
  4. Conduct awareness sessions for visitors to the center and introduce them to the services provided by the center, as well as deliver awareness sessions among internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the targeted areas.
  5. Prepare and document beneficiaries' success stories.
  6. Participate in developing monitoring and evaluation mechanisms and tools to measure the effectiveness and impact of awareness activities.
  7. Conduct needs and vulnerability assessments for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the targeted areas.
  8. Identify vulnerabilities and strengths and propose appropriate intervention measures.
  9. Refer cases to appropriate services, including medical, psychosocial, legal, and humanitarian assistance.
  10. Maintain all Safe Space records, files, and reports electronically as required.
  11. Ensure strict adherence to confidentiality and privacy principles concerning individual cases.
  12. Monitor and report protection concerns, including violence, exploitation, abuse, and other protection risks.
  13. Conduct surveys and assessments to identify vulnerable individuals and maintain accurate records of identified cases.
  14. Disseminate information on available services and raise beneficiaries' awareness of how to access them.
  15. Perform any other duties assigned within the scope of the project.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years of relevant professional experience in a similar role.
  • English language proficiency is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good computer skills, including data entry and electronic filing.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks efficiently and provide timely feedback.
  • Strong report-writing skills, including preparation of daily and monthly reports.

Additional Requirements

  1. Availability to work on a full-time basis.
