Job Purpose
The Psychologist is responsible for providing Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services to internally displaced persons (IDPs) through conducting psychological assessments, delivering individual and group counseling sessions, and promoting beneficiaries' mental well-being and resilience. The role aims to create a safe and supportive environment that upholds human dignity while coordinating closely with the center team and adhering to humanitarian principles and professional standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily interviews with internally displaced persons (IDPs) and provide psychological information, guidance, counseling, and support services inside and outside the center.
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for beneficiaries both within and outside the center.
- Prepare reports on psychological issues and trends among IDPs and recommend appropriate intervention strategies.
- Provide Psychological First Aid (PFA) to individuals affected by recent traumatic events or emergencies within camps or the center.
- Follow up on referred cases to ensure beneficiaries access the required services and monitor their progress throughout the project period.
- Participate in meetings, training sessions, and workshops required by the project.
- Train colleagues and partner staff on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services to strengthen staff capacity in responding to the psychosocial needs of displaced populations.
- Provide case management services for survivors of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and domestic violence, and develop appropriate intervention plans to support survivors.
- Develop mental health awareness and psychoeducation strategies targeting displaced communities.
- Participate in developing and updating emergency response plans related to mental health within the Mobile Protection Team.
- Contribute to the preparation of awareness and information materials related to mental health (brochures, posters, awareness messages) that are culturally appropriate for the target community.
- Design and implement community awareness campaigns on mental health, stress management, help-seeking behavior, and stigma reduction related to mental health disorders.
- Comply with organizational policies, work ethics, and the Association's Code of Conduct.
- Adhere to the official working hours established by the Project Manager.
- Perform any other duties assigned within the scope of the project.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field.
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant professional experience.
- Advanced proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Skills and Competencies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good computer skills, including data entry and electronic filing.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Ability to complete assignments efficiently and provide timely feedback.
- Strong report-writing skills, including daily and monthly reports.

- Availability to work on a full-time basis.
