Basic Information

General Objective of the Position

Provide psychosocial support services to internally displaced persons (IDPs) through psychological assessments, individual and group counseling sessions, and contribute to improving mental health and enhancing coping mechanisms in displacement settings, ensuring a safe environment that preserves human dignity in line with humanitarian principles and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Conduct daily interviews with IDPs and provide psychological counseling.
  2. Implement individual and group psychosocial support sessions.
  3. Prepare periodic reports on psychological issues and trends, and propose intervention strategies.
  4. Refer critical individual cases to the Project Manager and discuss them within vulnerable group meetings.
  5. Coordinate with partners and local authorities to refer cases requiring specialized treatment.
  6. Maintain records and prepare monthly reports on followed-up cases.
  7. Participate in meetings and training sessions as directed by management.
  8. Train colleagues and partners on methods of providing mental health services.
  9. Report cases of sexual assault or domestic violence and develop assistance plans for survivors.
  10. Design and implement awareness programs on mental health among IDPs.
  11. Comply with the code of conduct and designated working hours.
  12. Perform any other tasks within the scope of the project.

Essential Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the same field.
  • Advanced level of English (written and spoken).

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with others.
  • Proficiency in computer use, data entry, and archiving.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to complete tasks and provide timely feedback.
  • Ability to prepare daily and monthly reports as required.

Physical and Mental Requirements

  • Physically fit with sound senses.
  • Presentable appearance.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good listening, comprehension, and situational awareness.
