Basic Information about the Position

Overall Purpose of the Position To provide legal support and consultations ensuring that the activities of the social center for IDPs comply with local laws and humanitarian standards. The role focuses on protecting the rights of IDPs and service beneficiaries, following up on legal cases, representing the center before judicial or official authorities when needed, and contributing to fostering a safe environment that respects law and human rights.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Prepare monthly and quarterly plans for awareness activities and life skills programs.
- Implement monthly and quarterly awareness activities.
- Meet referred cases from case management daily and provide necessary legal advice.
- Conduct field and office awareness sessions to raise legal awareness among targeted groups.
- Network with local authorities, including civil status offices, to facilitate issuance of legal documents in coordination with the relevant department.
- Refer cases of sexual assault to competent government authorities (police or judiciary) and contribute to developing mechanisms and tools for legal awareness.
- Engage in advocacy for groups at risk of gender-based violence.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on awareness programs.
- Maintain records and submit monthly reports on legal cases handled inside and outside the center.
- Train colleagues and partners on local legal tools to enhance staff capacity in responding to IDP issues.
- Identify strengths and weaknesses and propose corrective measures.
- Attend regular meetings.
- Participate in any meetings or training sessions assigned.
- Carry out tasks assigned within the framework of the project.
Essential Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Law and Sharia or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in the same field.
- English language proficiency is preferred.

- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in computer use, data entry, and archiving.
- Ability to learn and adapt to the role.

- Ability to complete tasks and provide timely feedback.
- Strong report-writing skills (daily and monthly).
