Position: Media Assistant
Job Location: The HUMAN ACCESS office and in the field - Marib Governorate
Duration of Assignment: 6 months (July-Dec 2024).
Report to: Project Manager.

Background
Human Access for Partnership and Development (HUMAN ACCESS) is a non-governmental, independent, non-profit, humanitarian, developmental, charitable, voluntary, and community-based organization. It was established in March 1990 by an elite of volunteers and social personalities as a voluntary non-governmental organization that implements its programs, projects, and services according to periodic plans, a deliberate and renewed strategy, and a method of work based on the scientific methodology to be an effective link between donors and beneficiaries. HUMAN ACCESS is UNHCR’s implementing partner in Marib and other cities. HUMAN ACCESS is characterized by a strong and renewed relationship with development partners at home and abroad, and it has joint efforts with official and popular authorities. It is also distinguished by a tangible presence in many charitable and humanitarian events and activities. During its period of operation, which extends for about three decades, the association obtained several memberships in various organizations and bodies.
The association is a member of the Department of Public Information for the Non-Governmental Organizations of the United Nations (DPI-NGO), a member of the Arab Union for Voluntary Work, and an active and accredited partner to various international organizations, the most important of which are the World Food Program (WFP), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
HUMAN ACCESS has also obtained membership in many local, Arab and international organizations and networks working in various fields of volunteer and humanitarian work. It in addition obtained the international quality certificate ISO 9001: 2008 as a culmination of its institutional work.
This project is for IDPs and entitled: Provision of Essential Protection Assitance, Community Services, Shelter and CCCM Services to IDPs,IDP Returnee,HC, and Refugees & asylum seekers in Marib City, Marib District, and Harib

General Job Summary:
The Project Media Assistant is responsible for comprehensively documenting all phases of the project's implementation through photographs and video recordings. This includes creatively editing raw media assets into polished, narratively focused multimedia packages that convey the project's progress and impact. Working under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Media Assistant will publish finished content across HA platforms and design montages, presentations and other materials showcasing results. Organizing all collected visuals, clips, accompanying files and archiving them appropriately is also expected.
Essential Job Functions:
- Photographically and video graphically capture all project stages from inception to completion for reporting purposes.
- Produce documentary reports before, during and after the project outlining progress and successes.
- Disseminate project updates through HA platforms and various media outlets.
- Prepare necessary visual and written media content highlighting activities.
- Coordinate with TV channels and media to feature projects.
- Interview beneficiaries and draft human interest stories from target areas.
- Collect imagery and footage illustrating the humanitarian impact in project locations.
- Archive all informational materials (stories, photos, videos) from staff and beneficiaries.
- Assist in media drafting and production as needed.
- Take on any other assigned tasks within the project framework.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in fields like multimedia, journalism, public relations or related discipline.
- Minimum of two years working with INGOs/NGOs in photography, filming and documenting humanitarian aid projects.
- Proficiency capturing high-quality photographs and video footage of project activities.
- Expertise using design and montage software like Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Ability to strategically craft and edit multimedia content showcasing outcomes for digital publications.
- Experience interviewing beneficiaries and featured humanitarian stories.
- Strong organizational and archival skills to properly file all visual materials.
- Capability building relationships with media and securing coverage of project work.
- Capacity working efficiently under tight deadlines and pressure.
- Working knowledge of applications like MS Office.
- Team player attitude and passion for INGO objectives.
