Job Title: Health and Psychological Support Officer

Number Required: One

Location: Multi-location

Contract Duration: Sixteen months

Job Responsibilities:

Coordinating the provision of psychosocial support services to children by monitoring their access to psychological services, providing individual and group counseling and psychotherapy sessions, and working to improve the mental health of beneficiaries and enhance their ability to adapt to displacement situations. This contributes to creating a safe and stable environment that supports human dignity, in coordination with the center's team and in line with humanitarian principles and professional standards.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Follow up with psychological counselors and their facilitators to ensure that psychological interviews are conducted with IDPs and that information, assistance, and counseling are provided.
  • Coordinate with mental health partners to ensure an effective referral process.
  • Report on psychological problems and trends among IDPs and develop strategies to assist them.
  • Refer cases requiring multiple interventions to the Protection and Education Officer and present them at "vulnerable groups" meetings, if possible.
  • Establish appropriate mechanisms, in collaboration with partners and local authorities, to refer critical cases requiring psychological treatment.
  • Maintain records and submit monthly reports on psychological cases treated inside and outside the center.
  • Participate in any meeting, training course, or working session requested by the director.
  • Train colleagues and partners on providing mental health services to enhance staff capacity to respond to IDPs' problems.
  • Develop a strategy for mental health education among IDPs.
  • Coordinate with partners to help establish reference mechanisms and advocacy and lobbying efforts.
  • Adhere to HUMAN ACCESS policies and practices, including the Code of Conduct and relevant administrative policies.
  • Perform any other project-related tasks assigned by the Project Manager.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in the same field.
  • Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English.

  • Strong knowledge of case management principles and protection standards.
  • Ability to assess needs and develop intervention plans.
  • High-level communication skills in oral and written communication, with an outstanding ability to prepare professional technical and administrative reports.
  • Strong decision-making ability and responsibility in dynamic environments, with proficiency in managing emergency and complex situations.
  • Skilled in preparing reports and collecting field data.
  • Commitment to humanitarian values ​​and principles of humanitarian action.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in challenging environments.
  • Proficiency in using computers (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
